Curriculum
Monthly projects centered around gamifying learning encourage your student to work towards achieving goals they set for themselves and help them develop valuable habits which allow them to succeed in life.

About Mr. Kanoa
I started HappyWork, as a specialized tutoring service for neuro divergent students with ADHD and Dyslexia like myself!
Sourcing my 7 years of teaching experience, a Masters in Elementary Education and a lifetime of personal trial and error; I support students with autism, ADHD and Dyslexia by providing tutoring and academic coaching for those in need. Most of my students see me right here in my outdoor classroom, the Tutor Tent! I also offer online lessons and check-ins for those who prefer remote methods of interaction. During the summer I host Art, Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering and Math camps for students in elementary and middle school. Each of these efforts involves gamifying learning to make education fun.

The first step is making sure we are a good match for your student. Every first session is centered around getting to know the dreams and goals of the individual. From here we can create a custom plan that does not trim or prune, but nurtures and grows!

Curriculum
Reading/Writing
Your student deserves to construct arguments and fluently write essays or compositions at or above grade level. To learn these skills we play games and forge our ideas and adventures together.
Math/Science
Using real world applications we delve into math and science concepts that your student will enjoy learning about. Ratios with slime chemistry, fractions with Minecraft schematics.
Math should be fun!
Design and Fine Art
Learn the skills necessary to become a career artist by developing habits and routines taught at traditional art schools. Your imagination and determination is all you need.
Critical/Executive Skills
It is not enough to just be smart! We must learn not only how to think but what to think of. We must learn not only what to do, but how and when to do it.
How much does it cost?
My subscription based services are priced at a rate comprable to other corporate tutoring services in my area.
However, as opposed to being at a table with 3-5 other students all doing something different, my sessions offer direct one one on instruction.
What times are available?
I see students in person every day after school and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
How long is a session?
Every session is 55 minutes and consists of different activities designed to keep the interest of the student engaged and excited to learn.
What ages or level of competency do you specialize in?
I have had the pleasure of working with ages starting as low as 4 and reaching all the way up to adulthood. Regaurdless of where you student is in life, we will work together to help them reach stability and the next step of their journey.
Do you offer home visits and parental help?
I do offer home visits to help establish new and positive changes that can be made to set up students for success. This includes implementations of daily routines, nutrition plans and combating our ever presant addiction to screen time!
